The Family History Group runs on the first Wednesday of every month 11:00 – 12:30. Meetings are held at the City URC Upper Room in Windsor Place. 

The group focuses on aspects of social history through family case studies delivered by members. There are opportunities for questions and comments on the stories and the social history covered. It is not a genealogy group explicitly, although presentations include discussions on how stories have been researched. This can be of help to other members who may also be looking to do similar research. 

Stories covered so far include that of the Carter family in Newport, Myths and Legends of my family – half truths and red herrings.
