Members should book their place on a walk in advance with the convenor, Mary Allen.
Walk Information and Safety
Walk Planning
Walks are planned in advance and information about the route is sent to members of the group.
Walk safety
Equipment
All members of a planned walk should make sure that they have suitable equipment, which includes appropriate footwear, a waterproof, suitable protection for hot and cold conditions and walking poles if necessary.
Fitness
Members should make their own assessment about their fitness for the walk, details of which are sent out in advance.
Terrain-Slips, trips and falls
It is all too easy to get distracted or absorbed in conversation when walking in a group. Please keep an eye on your surroundings and walking surfaces.
Travel in own vehicle
The event starts on arrival at the start of the walk.
Food and medication
Walkers should ensure that they carry appropriate fluids and food if necessary; also any medication they may need.
