Stephen Lyon’s THE FIRST WELSH FILM STAR is the story of a young Llanelly boy who went to London as a teenager to become an actor. After a busy period working in touring theatre in the UK, he sailed for America with a company of Welsh actors. He stayed in America and became one of America’s most successful juvenile actors on stage and on film. In the 1940s he followed a calling to God and served as a Lay Missionary to the Paiute Indians in Nevada. He died at the Motion Picture Home and Country House in California in 1965.
